Habits of enlightenment

How do you stay enlightened?

For those of us meditating regularly and getting into a state of love and understanding will know a feeling of enlightenment. It is bliss, it is love, it is understanding for all and everything, even situations and circumstances.

The difficult part is being enlightened all the time. Life happens and we sometimes react in a way not in alignment with what we ideally want to be.

So how do we keep that state of enlightenment throughout our day and life?

HABITS

You have the power over your mind and body and that is the 2 “tools” you use to create habits. Now we all have a choice in the habits we create and keep, be it eating an unhealthy snack or keeping fit. It is a choice you made. Some habits have been created so long ago that we forget when and how we created it, we forget that first thought and decision we took that lead us down the road to the destination we are currently at.

 Habits of enlightenment is just that. It is creating the good habits that will lead us to live a full life, a life of enlightenment.

The methods of creation are simple, but it takes work and effort. That is why habits are an integral part of being/staying or becoming enlightened.

Some habits of enlightenment are to love everybody, everything and every situation around us without judgement.

“You can’t judge and love at the same time.”

Another is giving without expecting

Understanding another’s decisions in life, again without judgement but with love and understanding.

I repeat, you can not love and judge at the same time. If you think you can then you must re-evaluate what love is in the larger scheme of things. Not a limited, conditional love we tend to display towards people currently.

In the end, it is all worth it. Once you have achieved a certain state of enlightenment you get to keep it, unless you change your mind again.

So, in essence, enlightenment habits is about changing your mind and body to only think, feel and perceive the world in an enlightened way.

What does it mean to you to be enlightened? Your definition determines the state you will achieve.

Think big, dream big. We had Masters walking the earth before and currently, use them as examples of the state you can achieve and create these habits of enlightenment and become what you are meant to be.

Timelines of creation

The 3-day Theory is the timeline it takes to initiate a change in yourself and life.
Your mind thinks you are what you have been for the past 3 days.
So, if you want to change something about yourself, you will have to “be” the new person for 3days in a row and maintain it. The 4th day you will find it very easy to ‘be’ that new person as your mind now recall the past 3 days as who you are.
The game is not finished yet. Now your self dicipline needs to kick in and keep up the good work by being the new you and not to fall back into past thinking and feeling habits.
Stay reminded of the timelines to change.
• 3 days to initiate the change
• 3 weeks to create/change a habit
• 3 months to embed the habit in your subconscious brain
• 6 months to become and act the new you.
These timelines are based on the work and effort being done with a sense of passion and desire every day and not to fall back into past thinking and feeling habits.
It is therefore important to be aware what you are experiencing and not fall pray to thinking and feeling negative emotions like fear, anger, depression, hate etc for more than even 1 day.
It is easier to stop that train in day one than it is after 3 days. After day 3 you start to associate with that emotion and thought. Just imagine it after a few months or year?
To change back to your happiness, joy, love etc can take enormous amount of effort. One way we do it instantly is by being in a situation of great pain(breakup, betrayal etc). After that pain experience we see the errors of our ways and start to reform our behaviours.
To avoid getting stuck in a hole, sit daily in solitude with yourself while journaling about your beingness (Thoughts, behaviours and feelings). Make sure you are the person you want to be and ensure that no impure thoughts and feelings made their way in your mind and body (mind=thoughts and body=emotions).
Be reminded of the 3 day Theory, don’t stay in any unwanted emotion or feeling you do not want for longer than 3 days.
